The Story of Sheep View

In 2015, the #DTTT heard about the brilliance of Visit Faroe Island's #FaroeEclipse which paved the way for the inaugural Digital Tourism Content Campus. In March 2016, we sent more than a hundred destination marketers to use the Faroe Islands as their canvas for inspiration an learning at #DTCC2016, the calls to get Google to get a Google Trekker kit over didn't quite come through, however, but the 360° video workshop ran by Google did.

This (we presume) gave rise to some pretty ingenious creative thinking amongst the VFI team, at their homely HQ in the tranquil fishing harbour of Torshavn, where Sheep View 360 was born. Led by Durita, her sheep, and a handful of theta 360° camera(s), she set out on a mission to put the beautiful Faroe Islands on the map. Considered one of the biggest destination PR successes of 2016, making headlines the world over, Content Manager of Visit Faroe Islands, Levi Hanssen, is here to tell the story behind Sheep View 360.
