Siobhan Rooney

Siobhan is a social media research and insights specialist with more than five years’ experience examining the way people talk about brands online.

Since signing up to a little website called Facebook during 2005 as an exchange student in the US, she has been fascinated by social media and its impact on the communication landscape. Siobhan began her career at media intelligence company Gorkana, where clients included Thomson and First Choice holidays, and went on to spend 2.5 years in the research team at leading agency We Are Social. Here, she harnessed platform analytics, social listening and audience analysis to help brands make sense of their social media data and support the production of award-winning content.

More recent work has spanned content strategy and custom research pieces for the travel sector, in which the disruptive power of Airbnb became immediately obvious.

Beyond work, Siobhan is a keen collector of vintage clothing and always makes room in her suitcase for fresh finds when she's in a new city.

Siobhan's work includes, but is not limited to, formulating recommendations on how organisations can improve their social media presences based on research and best practice, ongoing performance reporting, brand and sector audits, and KPI setting.
