In her role as a lecturer, Parastoo tries to challenge students and future tourism professionals to recognise and confront gender biases by emphasising the importance of creating supportive environments where women can excel in leadership roles and advocating for ongoing efforts to change harmful social norms. Through these initiatives, she commits myself to accelerating action for gender equality and making a tangible impact in the tourism sector.
Although Parastoo hasn’t led a large-scale project focused on women’s advancement in tourism, her research on the women in tourism management contributes to promoting gender equality. Through her academic work, lectures and guest lectures in developing countries such as Iran and Kenya, she encourages awareness of these issues and inspire future professionals to support women’s advancement in the industry. Parastoo enjoy's the opportunity to challenge social norms and advocate for more inclusive leadership in tourism.

Parastoo is a PhD candidate specialising in women in tourism management and tourism human resources. Her research focuses on women in tourism leadership, exploring how social movements and industry dynamics shape their experiences.
With a strong interest in gender equality, Parastoo would like to try to highlight the voices of women in tourism, specially in developing contexts and cultures and contribute to more inclusive workplaces.
