To start the session we'll have a quick check-in to discuss what strategies and models you have considered or already applied. We'll then focus on each of the four different parts into which the session is divided:
In this part of the session, we'll focus on providing you with a broad understanding of many of the different sustainability models, methods and frameworks, such as the UNSDGs, B-Corporation, Cause-Specific Accreditations and much more. During this section, we'll also focus on what you think are the strengths and weaknesses of each of them to help you decide if the implementation of any of them would be helpful for your plan.
This section will look at different national models and approaches to applying sustainability and at specific projects and initiatives that some destinations are developing. We'll also give you an overview of the cases you'll be able to access on-demand to gain a better understanding of how you can achieve great results.
During this part of the session, we'll provide you with a wide variety of real-life examples of organisations that have initiatives or programmes related to sustainability. Some of the types of examples we'll look at include: individual action-oriented, 360º purpose-led brands, social enterprises and social impacts and transparency.
We'll also have short ideation round to discuss which are the business champions that you can identify, so bring all your ideas!
The last section of the session will focus on understanding the key principles of circular innovation, providing you with some of the best practices within it and templates and ideas to help you use circular design. We'll wrap this section with short ideation round to discuss how we might shift towards a circular tourism economy.
