The cruise industry has rebounded strongly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Underlining impressive recovery, global cruise passenger capacity is expected to exceed the pre-pandemic peak by 18% in 2024 according to data from the Cruise-Intelligence Platform.

Understanding and responding to changing consumer needs and market dynamics are important ingredients of success at this exciting time as cruise ship capacity reaches new record highs.

In this first research briefing as part of our new Cruise Intelligence series, we explore the behaviour of five key cruise markets accounting for around 70% of global cruise passenger volume. What are their preferred destinations? How do they interact with ports before and after the cruise?
