Visitor Economy Strategy 2025 - Shaping Vienna

Vienna can look back on a long history of success as a tourist destination. The city's performance over the past three decades reflects this: 2018 brought around 16.5 million bed nights, compared with about 7.5 million visitor overnights in 1990. One development has been particularly gratifying: the city’s hoteliers have recorded a significantly higher increase in revenue than in the number of overnight stays. The goal of 18 million overnight stays and EUR 1 billion in net revenue from overnights by 2020 is within reach.
