A framework is needed to help support the thousands of SMEs and Micro Enterprises and industry to work through the many needs emerging. From rethinking their business strategy, to re-visiting product, experiences and services to asses if they are still viable and meet the changing demand.

Furthermore the need for a coordinated effort is considerable, so that the industry works together with a collective and coordinated strategic output, whilst allowing individual creativity to come out of this stronger.

Outcome

The programme delivers tangible outputs on multiple levels which are designed to have a direct short-term enabling role in supporting the sustainability of the sector in the long-term. This includes:

1. Developing an extensive set of resources for use by the sector
2. Training public-sector tourism organisations to deliver industry development programmes
3. Skills upgrading in design thinking, business readiness, strategic planning and digital skills
4. Destination wide strategic plans tackling multi-pillared requirements and multi-phased recovery
5. Industry co-creation around solutions designed to adapt, tilt and prepare better for recovery
