The Val di Sole WOW Experiences project is a system-wide initiative that involved our tourist destination and the experience providers in our area. The goal of the project was to help stakeholders develop valuable experiences aimed at promoting local products and/or characteristic and sustainable activities.
To achieve this, our destination embarked on a training program with consultants or experts covering various topics such as experience design, digital communication, social media, online sales of experiences, content creation (photos and videos), and social sustainability.
The program started in 2019 and has evolved over time, becoming one of the flagship projects of our destination. The latest updates from the project include:
Val di Sole's WOW Experiences have a strong strategic underpinning and are certainly the right direction in which to go. The experiences developed are truly unique, offer ways to experience the destination that indeed delivers on their promise as 'wow' experiences and reinforce the destination's identity, values and strength through bookable experiences.
The judges particularly liked the variety of experiences on offer and the transformational fulfilment aspect which focuses on human connections and the natural environment.
The positioning of the experiences however could be improved, with stronger brand coherence throughout the site and a more consistent and clean user journey. Whilst the decision to use Fareharbour to offer bookability is good, the integration leaves room for improvement, which would support the overall user experience and ultimately drive better conversion and fulfilment.
There is an opportunity to invest in content and storytelling around the Wow experiences would also help connect them more solidly with the overall brand positioning and ensure they serve as fulfilment to a compelling content narrative.
